Yoga

Yoga is a sanskrit word which means ‘yoke’ or ‘union’. It is the practise of breath control, meditation and postures which bring about a sense of physical well-being and relaxation whilst improving flexibility and bringing stillness to the mind.

Yoga is also a way to look inside and find our true selves, a way to explore the physical and spiritual connection. Laila teaches Hatha, Yin, and Hot Yoga and allows each person to develop their own practice at their own pace by giving individual attention.

Yin yoga is a slow-paced form of yoga where the postures are held for longer periods of time. This is done to stretch the connective tissues increasing circulation and improving flexibility. Yin yoga also improves energy flow. Being still in a pose can be meditative, giving you time and space to observe whatever is going on within.

Hot Yoga

Laila teaches the original form of Bikram hot yoga based on 26 postures and 2 breathing exercises. The studios are heated to approximately 40 degrees Celsius. The heat allows your body to stretch and can help to relieve pain in joints, knee, neck and back.

Hot yoga helps cleanse and detoxify whilst providing a cardiovascular work out. The postures are designed to work every part of your body including your muscles, joints and organs. Hot Yoga helps you build resilience; what you learn in the studio helps you in the outside world and the breath is important with this. It is a moving meditation.
